Richard Howland  COO

Richard has over 30 years of insurance, business management and operations experience.This vast business and risk management experience has provided him the opportunity to service and counsel Haylor, Freyer & Coon, Inc. clients in insurance, risk management and business development, both internationally and domestically.

Richard began his career in banking and quickly developed his entrepreneurial flair by successfully starting several successful business ventures. In 1984 Richard brought his insurance and operational expertise to Haylor, Freyer & Coon, Inc. where he has undertaken several major initiates, including, bringing the entire organization under the stringent guidelines of ISO 9001. This initiative has elevated HF&C’s customer service to an unmatched level of superiority. Richard pioneered HF&C’s presence to the Western part of the country, opening and overseeing our Colorado location. Additional current areas of responsibility include the Group Benefits Department, IT Department as well as developing and overseeing the advertising and branding functions of Haylor’s operation.

Richard has received educational exposure in a number of disciplines. He graduated in 1968 from Jefferson Community College. He has pursued additional academic opportunities at Cornell University, American Institute of Banking, and Various other executive programs. Over the years, Richard has received several designations in Banking, Finance and Insurance.He has served on several Board of Directors for privately held corporations including, businesses in manufacturing, radio broadcasting and real estate development.

Richard has contributed his time and talent volunteering in many non-profit organizations. Serving on several Board of Directors including hospitals (Board Chair, Chairing Finance as well as Peer Review committees). Richard also served by a Governors’ appointment as a College trustee again as Board Chair, Finance and Academic committees.
